This is Pisang Sabah or in English, Sabahan Banana.
But this has nothing to do with this week's practical.
Haha~
This is what we're doing this week. This week we're relocated to the Mechanization Unit. Here, we're going to learn about the machine used in agriculture like this grass-cutting cart used to, you guess it, cut grass.
A little ice-breaking session, lectures, explanation about these machine for the first day at work.
The above machine is a 3-wheel small tractor used to crumble the soil in paddy fields.
These machines had a lot of components and each one is important to take note of before handling the machines. This is for the safety precautions and better maintenance of the machines. That's a lot of components to stuff in the brain. (-_-)
We also learnt about the implements used in agriculture. Implements are used by attaching it to a 4-wheel tractors and every implements have different functions.
Examples: Disc plough~for plowing, Rotovator~for soil crumbling, ridger~to make the bounds.
Mr. Adrien(the supervisor): Woo~ Hold your horses you two. You are not driving that tractor without reading the 100 pages manual first. Now, go back and read it. Tommorow, we're gonna roll.
So, we went back that day but never actually read the manual. :P
The next morning: We're driving a tractor! It's really fun. How many of you out there had actually driven a powerful multi-purpose 4-wheel tractors? Only certain individuals that are actually allowed to handles this type of machines.
Miss Valarie and Miss Fillicia is a little nervous. C'mon, you can do it!
After the ride, we were taught how to attached the implements to a tractor. It's one tough jobs even the professionals sometimes had problems to do it. With the help of Sir Adrien, we manage to do it somehow, after 30 minutes or so.
It's an unforgettable week here at the Mechanization Unit. Thank you for having us.
Peace~
